Richard Butler, one of my favourite contemporary painters, recently launched a site showcasing his work. The portraits have both a strong emotional quality and a wonderfully English sense of detachment. Butler’s play with disintegration and distortion in recent paintings is particularly compelling … definitely an artist worth following.
